Call Forwarding
Have your calls follow you wherever you go.
With Call Forwarding service your calls can follow you anywhere – so your family, friends and business contacts can always reach you. You can automatically forward your incoming calls to any number you choose, including cellular or pager numbers. Call Forwarding service also provides an added measure of security when you are away. Your telephone will always be answered. Call Forwarding is available on a monthly subscription basis.
Service available where facilities exist.
How to use Call Forwarding service:
- Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
- Press *72 from a touch tone telephone or dial 1172 on a rotary dial telephone.
- Listen for 3 beeps, followed by dial tone.
- Dial the telephone number to which your calls are to be forwarded.
- If the person answers, keep the line open for at least 5 seconds to establish Call Forwarding service.
If the called number is busy or does not answer:
- Hang up.
- Press *72 on a touch tone telephone or dial 1172 on a rotary dial telephone.
- Dial the telephone number to which your calls are to be forwarded. Listen for two beeps and hang up.
- Should you misdial, hang up and repeat the above steps.
To cancel Call Forwarding service
(route calls back to your regular telephone line):
- Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
- Press *73 on a touch tone telephone or dial 1173 on a rotary dial telephone.
- Listen for two beeps and hang up.
Call Forwarding Hints and Tips:
- When Call Forwarding service is turned on and someone tries to reach you, your telephone will ring once. You cannot receive calls but you can make outgoing calls on your regular telephone line.
- All calls are forwarded to the other telephone number whether your telephone is busy or not.
- If you call forward to another telephone number, unanswered calls will not route to your Voice Mail service.
- If forwarding calls to a long distance number, normal long distance charges will apply and be billed to your account. Long distance forwarding is not available in all areas.
- Should you attempt to establish Call Forwarding service when it is already in effect, a fast busy tone will be heard.
- Call Forwarding service can only be turned on from your regular telephone line.
- Don’t forget to turn off Call Forwarding service when you no longer need it.
