Speed Calling service lets you take a shortcut to place your call, you can program 8 or 30 local or long distance numbers with codes that you can then dial instead of the whole number. For programming of long distance numbers, do not forget to dial “1” and the Area Code.

How to use Speed Calling:

To program or change a speed calling service code:

1. Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.

2. For Speed Call 8:

   1. Press 74# on a touch tone telephone, or dial 74 on a rotary dial telephone.
   2. Listen for 3 beeps followed by a dial tone.
   3. Dial your chosen code (one digit from 2 to 9), then the telephone number you want to program. For long distance dial 1, then the area code, then the number.

   For Speed Call 30:

   1. Press 75 # on a touch tone telephone, or dial 75 on a rotary dial telephone.
   2. Listen for 3 beeps followed by a dial tone.
   3. Dial your chosen code (two digits from 20 to 49), then the telephone number you want to program. For long distance dial 1, then the area code, then the number.

To use a programmed Speed Calling service code:

1. Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
   On a touch tone telephone, press the special code you programmed to replace the telephone number and press the # button.
   On a rotary dial telephone, dial the special code you programmed to replace the telephone number.

To remove Speed Calling service code:

1. Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.

2. For Speed Call 8:

   1. Press *74 on a touch tone telephone, or dial 1174 on a rotary dial telephone.
   2. Listen for 3 beeps followed by dial tone. Dial or press the code corresponding to the number you wish removed.

   For Speed Call 30:

   1. Press *75 on a touch tone telephone or dial 1175 on a rotary dial telephone.
   2. Listen for 3 beeps followed by dial tone.
   3. Dial or press the code corresponding to the number you wish removed.
3. Listen for 2 beeps. Hang up.

Speed Calling Hints and Tips:

Speed Calling codes need only be programmed from one telephone, but can be used from any telephone on your line. Make note of the Speed Calling codes and their corresponding telephone numbers.
