Call Return
Return the calls you missed with the touch of a button, even if you don’t know the telephone number!
(Monthly rate or Pay-Per-Use)With Call Return, where technically available, you can return the last call that you received whether the call was answered or not. With Call Return you can redial the last outgoing call whether the call was answered or not. You can have a busy line monitored for 30 minutes so that you can get through at the earliest possible time, without constant redialing.
How to use Call Return to return the last call you received
To return the last call you received:
- Lift the receiver andlisten for dial tone.
- From a touch-tonetelephone, press *69, for rotary dial telephone, dial 1169.
- A voice message will tell you the number of the last incoming call and give you the choice of returning it.
- To return the call, press “1”.
If the line is busy:
- Wait for the voice message.
- Hang up. Call Return signal (2 short rings and 1 long) will let you know when the line is free.
- Lift the receiver and the call will be made automatically.
To cancel the Call Return request:
- Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
- From a touch-tone telephone, press *89, for rotary dial telephone, dial 1189
Charges still apply on cancelled Last Call Return requests made on a Pay-Per-Use basis.
How to use Call Return to monitor a busy phone line for an outgoing call you placed.
To redial the number of the last call placed:
- Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
- From a touch-tone telephone, press *66, or from a rotary dial telephone, dial 1166.
If the line is busy:
- Wait for the voice message.
- Hang up. The Call Return signal (2 short rings, 1 long) will let you know when the line is free.
- Lift the receiver and the call will be made automatically.
To cancel the Busy Call Return request:
- Lift the receiver and wait for dial tone.
- From a touch-tone telephone, press *86, or from a rotary dial telephone, dial 1186.
Charges still apply on cancelled Busy Call Return requests made on a Pay-Per-Use basis.
Notes on Call Return service:
- If you are using the telephone when Call Return signals you, your telephone will be monitored for 30 minutes. During this time 5 attempts (one every 6 minutes) will be made to signal you. After the 30 minutes, the Call Returnrequest will cancel itself.
- Call Return will work on a Call Waiting call. If you don’t respond to a Call Waiting tone, you can use Call Return service later to the get the number of the call that was waiting.
- A call cannot be returned by Call Return (*69) when the number has been blocked.
Call Return Hints and Tips:
- Call Returnservice operates on most direct calls from most locations.
- Calls cannot be returned when calls are placed from telephones using Call Blocking features, from certain pay telephones, from some business lines, from certain cellular telephones, for some long distance connections or through the operator.
- Some numbers cannot be returned if the caller has intentionally blocked the display of their number.
- You can still make and receive calls while waiting for the Call Return signal.
- Call Returnservice will monitor a busy or unanswered line for 30 minutes. During this time, 5 attempts will be made to signal your line. If after 30 minutes you have not responded to the signals, the Call Return request will be cancelled.
- If you have more than one request at a time, Call Return service will signal you as the called parties come available. However, you will not know the name and number of the call being returned unless you subscribe to Call Display (Name and Number) service, in which case the name and number will appear on the display screen of your telephone.
- If you subscribe to Call Waiting service and do not answer a waiting call and when you have completed your original call, Call Return service will provide the number of the call that was waiting.
- When using Three-Way Cag service, you cannot use Caeturn service to try to contact the third person.
